Child and Family Hubs
Child and Family Hubs provide integrated services for children and families with a ‘no wrong door’ approach. The Hubs aim to create a welcoming, non-stigmatising entry point for children and families to improve their access to the multiple services they need by situating them together.
What support is available?
Hubs provide access to health, education, and social services in one setting. They are located where children and families can easily access them – mostly within early learning services, primary schools, primary health care settings or Aboriginal Controlled Community Health Organisations (ACCHOs).
Emerging evidence shows Hubs are improving outcomes for children and families, including improved child academic outcomes, improved identification of developmental vulnerability and increased access to care for families who might typically be difficult to reach.
Where are they located?
Child and Family Hubs are growing in number across the country. There are approximately460 Hubs nationally. Social Ventures Australia has commissioned a piece of work to map where current Hubs are located as well as highlighting areas of disadvantage and unmet need where Hubs would be well placed in the future.
Use the map to search for Hub types by location, including early childhood Hubs and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations.
